On September 3rd, less than 48 hours after arriving in the US, Tyler had another surgery to remove a part of his facial birthmark. Like his previous 3, this surgery took place at Seattle Children’s Hospital by the same surgeon. We arrived at the hospital at 8am and Tyler went into surgery around 10:30am. The surgery lasted about 90 minutes. He was discharged from the hospital the same day around 3pm.

Tyler did really well and was never scared. He had an infection after his surgery, but we caught it early enough where it did not turn into a major problem. He had a follow up appointment a week later and everything was healing nicely. Tyler will have another surgery the day after Thanksgiving. We are really hoping that this will be the last surgery he needs for his birthmark.
