Jamin returned last week from a quick trip to the US. There were several reasons he had to go back, but the primary reason was to renew his visa. With the type of visa that Jamin has, it has to be renewed outside of China. It’s not possible for it to be renewed within China (Tamara and the boys can renew their visas without leaving the country). As soon as Jamin arrived in the US, he submitted his visa application to the Chinese consulate via a visa service agency. A week later, Jamin received his passport back with the exact visa that he asked for! Jamin’s new visa is valid for 16 months and allows him to be in country for 4 months at a time. After 4 months, Jamin needs to do a visa run, but the visa run can be done within Asia (such as a quick trip to Hong Kong or Mongolia). Thanks to all of you who were praying for us about Jamin’s visa situation! Visa’s can be a huge headache, but fortunately Jamin is all set for the next year.
